A refined COMMON RAIL DIESEL, or a powerful 24-valve V6 petrol engine; 5-speed automatic on the petrol models or 6-speed one-touch sequential shift transmission on the diesels - there is an X-TYPE to match your needs and to exceed anything you might expect.
The new X-TYPE now offers the combination of diesel power with automatic transmission - pairing a 2.2 litre diesel with a six-speed automatic, and the one-touch control of Jaguar Sequential Shift™ - broadening the new model's appeal to buyers who previously could not have this combination in an X-TYPE.
The new X-TYPE automatic diesel combines high levels of refinement with optimised performance and economy, and promises more choice and even greater luxury.
Jaguar's commitment to active technology has one aim: to give you optimum control whatever the circumstances. Dynamic Stability Control is standard across the range and is designed to help maintain control and balance. ABS reduces wheel lock-up under heavy braking, even in wet conditions. Emergency Brake Assist, to help faster braking and steering control.
Almost twenty years of computer time - 175,000 hours - went into the development of X-TYPE's safety performance for total confidence and improved passenger protection. Deformable crumple zones front and rear, engineered to absorb and deflect energy. All doors reinforced with anti-intrusion bars helping protect against side impact, and dual-stage front airbags designed to deploy as required for driver and front passenger protection.
There are two engines to choose from; the 2.1 litre 117kW V6 petrol or the 2.2 litre 4-cylinder diesel with a huge 366Nm of torque. The X-TYPE comes in 2 models - 2.1 LE and 2.2D LE.
