The Jaguar XF fuses sports car styling and performance with the refinement, features and space of a luxury saloon. Contemporary, individual, and expertly crafted, the XF embodies the Jaguar philosophy of creating beautiful, fast cars and defines a new driving experience: Sporting Luxury.
In 2009, Jaguar expands the XF range to introduce the pinnacle of the range, the 375kW XFR alongside new engine and trim level additions.
The first sporting saloon to deliver Jaguar's stunning new design language. The profile is unique - athletic and assertive, the dramatic lines of a coupe envelop a spacious cabin with four doors and seating for five adults.
The enhanced exterior styling of the XFR moves those sporting credentials on even further, to deliver the ultimate expression of Jaguar's new saloon car design language - carrying a number of design cues that are intrinsic to Jaguar's 'R' car philosophy. Its unique new front end design has a larger lower grille with new black finished mesh plus chrome outboard air intakes. The upper mesh grille retains XF's bright finish, while the XFR's unique bonnet carries bold and distinctive louvres, like those on the XKR.
And the visual excitement is underpinned by the acknowledged strengths of Jaguar engineering and the latent power of XF's dynamic character.
The strong grille creates a distinctive signature, emphasising a broad, solid stance. The low nose, rising waist, sweeping roof line and powerful shoulders combine to imbue visual dynamism. And the detailing is exquisite and subtle, from the woven mesh of the grille to the dramatically sculpted light clusters, from the side power vents to the large alloy wheels.
The XF is exquisitely crafted with luxurious finishes that combine real wood veneers with Aluminium and supple leather in a thoroughly contemporary way. Halo illumination around the switch panels and JaguarDrive SelectorTM console, the start-stop button and Electric Parking Brake gives a soft glow that indicates their positions without distracting the driver. And like the XK, the XF's V8 exhaust systems are tuned for an overtly sporty sound quality, just as the XF's looks promise.
The XF has the best aerodynamic performance, in terms of drag, of any Jaguar production car ever. Its high tail, its coupe-like roofline and subtle raised boot lid lip all contribute to impressive aerodynamics. The XF's drag coefficient is just 0.29 and the front-to-rear lift balance is precisely zero. This results in less wind noise, improved fuel consumption, strong high speed stability and, of course ideal handling balance.
